The Chengdu CR Mumian Hotel is located within the new Mix_C mall not far from Wide and Narrow Alley (Kuanzhai Xiangzi). The design will follow the Mix_C idea of being “innovative, trendy, and modern”, with the scope of enhancing the young character of the whole area in this district.

The aim will be to recreate a contemporary version of the microcosm of the city’s historical Wide and Narrow Alley as well as a deep mark in local people’s memory.

The building is composed of a single tower on top of the newly developed Mix_C mall. From the street-level drop-off, the guests will directly reach the hotel via a dedicated lift connection. The hotel lobby as well as the other hotel public spaces will occupy the upper floor of the mall with direct access to the outdoor roof terrace. The relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces along with the busy versus quiet aspects reminds the general mood of the Wide and Narrow Alley (Kuanzhai Xiangzi). There, some streets (Wide Alley) exhibit the vibrant life of natives and represent the most typical forms of Chengdu folk culture in contrast with other spaces (Narrow Alley) that feature a more typical slow life of Chengdu.
